Tips and Tricks

  • Get your eyes are dark adapted and keep them that way. Miralight produces a soft light which will be more difficult to see if you've just come from an area of strong light. In pitch dark, it takes about 20-30 minutes for your eyes to become dark adapted. Tip: Leave the lights on in the room in which the Miralight is charging while you're in another room with the lights turned down. As you walk into the Miralight room, switch off the lights and your Miralight will appear brighter.

  • Use florescent lights to charge Miralight. They have more ultraviolet light and provide a better charge.

  • Just for fun, place objects, like a set of keys or a comb, on the surface of Miralight and then expose it to light. When the lights are off and the object is removed, there's a shadow of the object on the Miralight! (Don't place heavy or sharp objects on it because they could damage the surface.)

  • Make sure you place Miralight so it directly faces the light source you use to charge it. Remember the stronger light, the better. And the closer, the better.

  • If you want to temporarily stick a MiniMiralight on a surface, only remove the corners of the paper backing. That way it will be easier to remove and it will leave less glue residue when it is removed.

  • Miralight will produce more light when it is warmer, but it also uses up its energy faster. If you need just a little more light, place it near something that is warm. CAUTION: Do not place it in front of a heater or heater vent.

  • When night comes and if, for whatever reason, your Miralight didn't get enough charge, just hold it under a very strong light for a minute or so and it will get enough charge to last the night.
